Signal 13 Takes Miami Back to 1985

Signal 13 takes place in 1985 and follows a cop who already has problems but now faces even more. This independent crime drama is created by and stars Mario Ramil. The story unfolds in a Miami filled with drug money, corruption, and changing loyalties. The show is tense but has some moments of humor.
Ramil plays Lorenzo "Enzo" Casanova, a cop on a new task force called Signal 13. His job pulls him into a criminal world where trust comes at a price. As he grows closer to a woman trying to escape that life, it becomes harder to separate his work from his personal loyalties, putting his identity and life in danger.
A Story Told in Spanglish
The series features short, cinematic episodes where English and Spanish mix naturally in the dialogue. This familiar way of speaking is central to the world Ramil brings to the screen.
In Miami, people often switch languages in the middle of a sentence without even noticing. Signal 13 captures this rhythm in its characters and their conversations. The way people speak in Miami is part of the story.
Ramil wrote, directed, and produced the project, bringing together local talent both on screen and behind the scenes. The other producers are Lenny Carter, JC Ramil, and Jorge "Jokes" Yanes.
Familiar Faces and a Historic Setting
The cast includes comedian and actress Aly Sanchez, MMA star Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal, and former NFL player Brett Romberg. The show brings together both entertainment and sports personalities.
Filming at the historic Hialeah Park racetrack and casino gives the show an authentic Miami-Dade setting. While it's a period piece, it uses real people, language, and culture from the city to tell a story about duty, survival, and the price of choosing between loyalties.
For Ramil, this project combines his skills as a writer, director, producer, and lead actor with a story deeply connected to his own community.
