The Art of Feeling at Home
Inside the World of Lilla Sher
Designing Spaces That Feel as Beautiful as They Look
Published by Angie LaGuardia

The Power of Transformation
Lilla Sher does not simply design homes. She creates emotional landscapes; spaces that soften, restore, and transform the people who live within them.
Raised in the quiet elegance of Coral Gables, Sher grew up immersed in a world where beauty was not treated as luxury, but as an experience. Her family owned a celebrated salon in the heart of Miami, and from an early age she observed something far more profound than aesthetics. Clients would arrive carrying the invisible weight of their lives and leave lighter, more confident, and renewed. Watching that transformation unfold day after day shaped her understanding of design long before she ever entered the industry herself.
“It was never just about appearance,” Sher says. “It was about how people felt.”
That philosophy would quietly become the foundation of Lilla Sher Interiors, the Miami-based design studio now known for crafting refined yet deeply livable interiors throughout South Florida.
Sher’s story is rooted in resilience as much as creativity. Her parents immigrated to the United States with very little, eventually building their salon into one of Miami’s most successful beauty destinations. Their discipline, artistry, and ability to truly listen to people left a permanent mark on her.
Designing Beyond Aesthetics
Though interior design ultimately became her calling, her journey there was anything but linear. Sher first pursued a degree in education before transitioning into real estate, where she discovered herself drawn not only to homes, but to the possibility within them. She found herself instinctively helping clients envision spaces differently; softer, brighter, more intentional. Design, it seemed, had been quietly waiting for her all along.
Returning to school to formally study interior design brought a new sense of clarity. Technical training sharpened an instinct she had carried for years, while motherhood and family life deepened her perspective on how spaces function emotionally. Sher credits her children’s ambition and her husband’s unwavering support for giving her the confidence to pursue the career fully.

A Wellness-Driven Philosophy
Today, that layered life experience distinguishes her work in a city often driven by trends. Sher’s interiors feel elevated without pretension—sophisticated yet warm, polished yet deeply personal. Her projects across Bal Harbour, Surfside, and Coral Gables reflect a designer less interested in spectacle than in atmosphere.
Her latest undertaking may be her most ambitious yet: the design of an 18,000-square-foot cosmetic surgery facility in Coral Gables. The scale is significant, but for Sher, the mission remains intimate.
Whether designing a luxury residence or a medical space, she begins every project with the same question:
“How do you want to feel here?”
The answer becomes the blueprint.
For Sher, great design extends beyond aesthetics and functionality into something equally important: wellness. She believes the environments people inhabit have a profound influence on their mental and emotional well-being. Through the thoughtful use of natural light, calming color palettes, organic materials, and intentional layouts, she creates spaces that encourage balance, comfort, and restoration. In a world that often feels overstimulating, Sher sees the home as a sanctuary; a place where design can reduce stress, foster connection, and support a healthier, more grounded way of living.
In an era where interiors are increasingly curated for social media, Sher’s work stands apart for its emotional intelligence. She understands that true luxury is not simply visual. It is comfort. Ease. Connection. A sense of belonging.
And perhaps that understanding began years ago, inside a family salon in Miami, where a young girl first learned that transformation is never just seen… it is felt.
