Miami, Make Room for November

Ten events worth planning for.

We all have that group chat where someone says, “We need to get together.” Most of the time, it only takes one person to pick a date. November gives you lots of reasons to be that person.

You could spend an afternoon watching polo on the beach, catch a film that sticks with you through dinner, finally wear that dress you’ve been saving, or just stroll under the lit-up palms with your family.

This month’s Greater Miami calendar has something for every mood, budget, and group. You don’t have to fill every weekend. Sometimes, one good plan can make the whole month better.

Start With a Story

Miami Film Festival GEMS | Through November 5

Before the holidays fill up your evenings, it’s nice to step into a theater and get lost in a story.

Miami Film Festival’s GEMS showcase, from October 29 to November 5, is a great chance to catch international films and new releases on local screens. Try something you wouldn’t usually pick. Bring a friend who always has a movie suggestion, and leave time afterward to talk about it. Chatting about the movie is part of the fun.

Take the Long Way South

NASCAR Championship Weekend | November 6–8

Some weekends are made for a change of scene, and this one will be lively.

NASCAR Championship Weekend ends the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and it’s more than just racing. If you’re a fan, you know what’s at stake. If it’s your first time, the noise, the size, and the shared excitement make it a South Florida must-see. Bring a friend who knows the sport, or just come ready to learn and have fun.

Dress for Something That Matters

InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball | November 7

A night out can be both beautiful and meaningful.

The 31st annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball has a “Crystal Castle” theme in Downtown Miami, with Kelly Clarkson as the headliner. There’s black-tie attire, a reception, and a silent auction. The event raises money to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses.

If you go, you get to dress up and join others for a good cause. You can make reservations or look into sponsorship options through the organizers.

Give the Evening a Little Wonder

NightGarden at Fairchild | From November 7, select evenings

Since we spend so much time on screens, an evening walk at Fairchild feels like a real treat.

Starting November 7, NightGarden will have glowing installations and light-and-sound experiences after dark. Bring the kids, make it a date, or invite friends for a relaxed evening.

The 2026 program also includes real ice skating under the palms as an extra activity. In Miami, that’s definitely worth checking out.

Make Lunch the Afternoon

South Florida Seafood Festival | November 8

This is the perfect plan if you enjoy sharing food.

The South Florida Seafood Festival is back at Wynwood Marketplace with stone crabs, oysters, lobster, paella, and lots of other seafood to try. Chef demos, live entertainment, cocktails, and vendor stalls will keep you entertained.

It’s open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., so it’s a great reason to make lunch the main event.

Let the Scorecard Share the Purpose

Best Buddies Golf Classic: Miami | November 13

Golf is a great way to talk. You can catch up between shots, meet new people, and find common ground.

At the Best Buddies Golf Classic: Miami, golf’s social side supports a bigger cause. The event at Turnberry Golf Course in Aventura raises money to create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Players, business leaders, and supporters come together for a day of competition and connection, with inclusion at the heart of it all.

See a Familiar City Differently

Luminosa: Miami Reimagined in Light | From November 13

Even if you know the city well, it’s fun to see it in a new way.

At Jungle Island, Luminosa uses Miami’s neighborhoods, tropical landscape, and culture to create a glowing walk through seven themed areas.

It’s an outing for all ages, with lots of chances to stop, look around, and enjoy being outside. The event runs until January, but November is a good time to visit before December gets busy.

Follow the Action to the Bay

E1 Miami GP | November 13–14

A day by the water feels even more special when there’s a championship going on.

The E1 Miami GP comes back to Biscayne Bay for two rounds, wrapping up the season for the electric raceboat series. Marc Anthony’s Team Miami gives locals something to cheer for, and artist Romero Britto adds even more color to the event.

If you’re curious about the sport, the waterfront is a great place to start. The celebrity team owners are part of the E1 story, but the main draw is the racing on the water.

Spend an Afternoon Beside the Sand

Miami Beach Polo World Cup | November 13–15

An afternoon with horses, ocean air, and a stylish outfit is classic Miami Beach.

The Miami Beach Polo World Cup is back at Collins Park for three days of matches, a retail village, and lots of social events, including après-polo gatherings at The Setai.

You don’t have to know much about polo to have fun. Watch a match, learn as you go, and enjoy the beach setting. There’s an invitation-only opening on November 12, and different access for hospitality and social events.

Leave Room for a Short Film

Miami Short Film Festival | November 13–15

A story doesn’t always need two hours to make an impression.

Now in its 25th year, the Miami Short Film Festival brings independent films to O Cinema South Beach, Silverspot Downtown, and Deering Estate. Each program highlights filmmakers and new perspectives, so you might find something unexpected.

Pick a screening with someone whose tastes are different from yours. You might end up with new favorites and a more interesting conversation.

Not every November plan has to be big. It can start with buying a ticket, picking an afternoon, or just sending that message: “Right, let’s actually do this.”

Check organizers’ websites for tickets, availability, and schedule updates before attending.
